<Desecration Birthday Tape Narrative Script Summary>

Role
- Living in a miserable reality, it shows a bond between brothers
- Showing a peaceful past and creates a contrast with the cruel present of Gareth using dead bodies to save his brother

Design Intention
- Showing his brother Gawain relying heavily on his brother Gareth, makes the player feel more inclined to help him
- Description of a situation in which family circumstances force one to rely on each other

<Desecration Birthday Tape Narrative Script>

<Desecration Rumrunner Transcript Narrative Script Summary>

Role
- The place that used to be a playground when the player was young was actually a crime scene -> Turned the space of memories into an unpleasant space
- Show hidden family secrets and increase tension

Design Intention
- Environment Storytelling: Depicts visual and auditory elements and gives the player a sense of immersion
- Fostering Disgusting: The ugly truth of a childhood sword fight is revealed to be a fragment of a secret sake box, which makes the player feel uncomfortable

<Desecration Rumrunner Trascript Narrative Script>

<Desecration Notebook of Names Narrative Script Summary>

Role
- Justification Collapsing: The brother's denial of a player who even committed murder to save his brother breaks his legitimacy

Design Intention
- Shows that Gareth's love has been distorted and altered just by the motivation of "I have to save Gawain."

<Desecration Notebook of Names Narrative Script>

<Desecration Conniving Corpse Narrative Script Summary>

- Gareth deciding to repay for everything he has done to save his brother, Gawain
- Gareth losing memory

<Desecration Conniving Corpse Narrative Script Summary>

- Written in a screenplay format

Role
- Crisis: Players' bad behavior is left as a "record" but victims cannot actually even "remember"
- Hostile World: Repeating the line "Gareth must die" to show hostility toward Gareth

Design Intention
-
Conniving corpse: Forgets information easily -> Dialogue hidden away a bit
- Obsession: Gareth remembers Gareth's actions even though he doesn't remember them and emphasizes the cruelty of the crimes he committed
- Players know they are Gareth, but the body cannot actually recognize Gareth and asks him to look for Gareth. -> There is a possibility that the identity will be revealed someday.

<Desecration Conniving Corpse Narrative Script>

<Desecration Mad Corpse Narrative Script Summary>

Role
- Psychological pressure: Stimulates the player's guilt. Players are psychologically driven into a corner because they have actually ruined the corpse's life.
- Informational: Finger lines that indirectly show how the player killed someone.

Design Intention
- Unpredictable triggers: Designed to change the tone of the NPC lines according to the player's behavior, preventing the player from relaxing.
- Loss of basic ability: NPC can't even perform basic human ability, such as counting fingers and speaking clearly -> Shows that they have lost basic ability as a person, and at the same time makes players feel scared

<Desecration Mad Corpse Narrative Script>

<Desecration Gawain Act 1 (Freeroam) Narrative Script Summary>

Role

- Changed Brother: Gawain who needs to be saved speaks words that he doesn't understand & shows the results of Gareth's actions

- Peer Pressure: Induces players to behave differently in specific situations, such as players looking at walls

Design Intention

- Ponting out players' action: Characters pointing out the players' behavior and make them immerse themselves in game stories

- Personality Destruction: Showing that Gawain's brain is inoperable and he cannot think properly

<Desecration Gawain Act 1 (Freeroam) Narrative Script>

<Why This Script was Not Included in the Development>

Role
- Justification Collapsing: The brother's denial of a player who even committed murder to save his brother breaks his legitimacy

Design Intention
- Shows that Gareth's love has been distorted and altered just by the motivation of "I have to save Gawain."

<Script Revision Summary>

New task
- Revise the scripts I wrote, including notebook of names and rumrunner script
- Scope down for Gawain Act 1 (Freeroam)

Why Revision Needed?
- What I did and what team wanted were different
- What I wrote: Dialogues between characters
- What team wanted: Text logs

Why Revision Needed?
- Not much time left to develop everything written on the script

What I Learned

- Always ask the team to stay on the same page
- Think about the scope -> Everything on the document cannot be made for different reasons

<Revised Desecration Birthday Tape Narrative Script Summary>

Revision
- Used red fonts for the revision

- Included camera angle, what is it showing, etc.
- Reference images of the angle
- What music is being played & how it is being played

Revision Why Camera Angles

- Gives clear instructions for the team to make the scene

<Revised Desecration Birthday Tape Narrative Script>

<Revised Desecration Rumrunner Transcript Narrative Script Summary>

Revision
- Used red fonts for the revision

- Rewrote the entire script as transaction record of alcohol
- Created an atmosphere that is likely to be used in actual crime scenes

Text Log includes:

- Transaction record of items
- Date
- Place of transaction
- Items
- Payment
- Status of items
- Cause

<Revised Desecration Rumrunner Transcript Narrative Script>

<Revised Desecration Notebook of Names Narrative Script>

Then, I revise notebook of names. Just like rumrunner transcript, I had to write over the entire script. Notebook of names is a well-worn book in which Gareth has recorded a log of every body he had stolen to save his brother, Gawain.

The revision of rumrunner transcript includes the following:

Description of how notebook looks like
Introduction of Gareth
- Name of person
- Status of corpse
- Where was the corpse found
- Last part of Gareth saying 'I will pay for it'

The script shows a list of people who got used by Gareth for saving his brother and mentions that Gareth is slowly losing his memories

<Revised Desecration Conniving Corpse Narrative Script>

After that, I revise conniving corpse. I added more dialogues in the script so it sounds more natural, just like an actual conversation between two people in real life.

The revision of rumrunner transcript includes the following:

- Editing grammer
Gareth's lines

<Revised Desecration Mad Corpse Narrative Script>

After that, I revise mad corpse script. The script itself seems fine so I made simple editions, such as the action of mad corpse and adding Gareth's line.

Since the original mad corpse script relies a lot on the game reading player actions, I thought it would be better if Gawain just pops up every now and then, says a line, and then leaves the scene

Just like other scripts, I used red fonts so the team can know what is the revision in the script.

<Revised Desecration Gawain Act 1 (Freeroam) Narrative Script>

Next, I revised Gawain Act 1 (Freeroam). Since the original Gawain Act 1 (Freeroam) relies on a lot on the game reading player actions, I had to remove them because there is not much time remaining to publish the game. Therefore, I thought it would be better if Gawain just pops up every now and then, spits out a line or two, and then leaves

The revision of Gawain Act 1 (Freeroam) includes the following:
- Removed all the game reading player action
- Scoped down Gawain's lines

I wrote the script down as simple as I can, so the script can actually be fully implemented into the game.

<Fully Localized Desecration Narrative Script - Korean>

This is the full narrative script of Desecration in Korean. I was responsible for translating and localizing the entire script from English to Korean.
